COUNTABLE

How teams and the weekly count work

A CountAble team is you and your buddies, up to 20 people. Each of you picks your own activity and weekly number. The app counts down what each person has left, and every Sunday the week closes with a board of who hit their number.

1. Start a team

On the Basic or Premium plan, tap ADD TEAM on DATA, or START A TEAM on COUNT. The app first asks how your team will talk.

2. Pick how your team talks

There are three ways. The team's creator picks one and can switch later under HOW YOUR TEAM TALKS on the team's card.

TEAM TEXT IN APP

Your team talks in a team chat inside CountAble. The coach answers when someone asks it something, and posts the Sunday board. Messages are kept for 90 days.

AUTO-TEXT BY CREATOR

Stay in your own group text. The creator's iPhone posts the Sunday board there by itself, through a Shortcut. Needs iOS 27 or later.

TEXT FORWARD BY CREATOR

Each Sunday the creator gets the week's board to paste into your group text. Good for a group with an Android phone in it.

The coach is never added to a group text.

3. Invite your buddies

INVITE A BUDDY makes a one-time code for one friend. It is good for 14 days, and you send it from your own Messages: CountAble never texts your friends. They install CountAble on their iPhone and enter the code under JOIN A TEAM. A friend who accepts gets Basic free for 30 days, once per person.

4. Everyone picks their own number

5. Count through the week

Your week lives on PLAN as day cards. Swipe a day right when it is done and left when it is missed. A day linked to your activity counts when you mark it done. Your COUNT card always shows what is left this week; double-tap it to flip to the team's scoreboard.

Watch numbers come from Apple Health on your phone, so they arrive when you open the app. If a number looks low, open CountAble.

6. Sunday: the board

Every Sunday, a team with at least two people gets the week's board:

Then come a couple of short lines: who came up short, and one line to get the team going. A fresh week starts after that.

7. A wager, if your team wants one

Each person is judged only on their own numbers. CountAble keeps the board and never holds or moves money.
